Before treatment:
Ceballos Richardo was born premature when his mother was 33 weeks pregnant. He was on oxygen for 8 days after birth. Afterwards, there was no abnormalities. His family members found that the patient had no response when he saw objects. He was sent to hospital and the examination showed he had no vision and had retinopathy. He underwent operative treatment in his right eye, but there was no improvement in his vision. The patient suffered from ocular hypertension when he was 1 year old. He received eye drops for treatment, but he still had no vision. Before the treatment, the patient was in good spirits. His appetite was not good. He slept almost normally. His defecation was normal.
Nervous System Examination:
Ceballos Richardo was alert and his speech was clear. His memory, orientation, comprehension and calculation abilities were all normal. Both eyes´ cornea was grey, white and muddy. The pupils were completely blocked out. The patient had no response to light stimuli. He had no vision or visual field. The forehead wrinkle pattern was symmetrical. The nasolabial sulcus was equal in depth. His ability to swallow was normal and his hearing was also normal. He was able to move his neck, with a wide range of motion. The muscle strength of the flexor muscle of both of his upper limbs was level 5. His ability to grasp objects with both hands was level 5. The muscle strength of the other muscles of both of his upper limbs was level 4-. The muscle strength of both of his lower limbs was level 4-. All four of his limbs had a wide range of motion. The muscle tone of all four of his limbs was almost normal. He had poor balance while walking. The tendon reflex of all four of his limbs was normal. His abdominal reflexes were normal. The sucking reflex was negative. The bilateral palm jaw reflex was negative. The bilateral Hoffmann sign was negative, the bilateral Rossolimo sign was negative, and the bilateral Babinski sign was negative. There was a deep and shallow sensation present. His movement coordination was normal. There were no signs of meningeal irritation.
Ceballos Richardo received treatment on July 26, 2013. He received treatment to improve his blood circulation to increase the blood supply to the damaged neurons and nerve regeneration. He also received treatment to retinal prosthesis, nourish the nerves, enhance immunity and repair nerves. This was accompanied by rehabilitation.
The patient´s condition has showed improvement. The grey-white color of his cornea has been reduced. The muddiness of his cornea has been reduced, in comparison to before. The muddiness in his left cornea has clearly been reduced. His iris is much clearer, the covering of his pupils has been reduced. His right iris has begun to clear up in the peripheral region. Both eyes have are sensitive to light and his left eye has obvious light sensitivity. His eyes have some chromatic discrimination power. The muscle strength of all four of his limbs was normal. His balance has improved.
