Before treatment:
The patient was a full-term newborn infant. He couldn’t move his left arm well when he was 3 months old so he was taken to local hospital and diagnosed with brachial plexus nerve injury. His left elbow joint displayed more contracture day by day, his left wrist was crooked, his palm and finger joints were malformed and he was unable to move this arm while his other limbs were normal.
His spirit is normal, his sleep and diet are normal. His urination and defecation functions are normal.

Admission PE:
Bp: 119/74mmHg, Hr: 71/min, breathing rate: 19/min, body temperature: 36.4 degrees. Nutrition status is good with normal physical development. There is no injury or bleeding spots of his skin and mucosa and no blausucht. Chest development is normal, the respiratory sounds in both lungs were normal with no dry or moist rales. The heart beat is strong with regular cardiac rhythm and no obvious murmur in the valves. The abdomen was soft and flat, with no masses or tenderness. The liver and spleen were normal.

Nervous System Examination:
Patient was alert and his mental status was good with clear speech, the memory, orientation and calculation abilities were normal. Both pupils were equal in size and round, diameter of 3.0 mm, react well to light and the eyeballs can move freely. Bilateral forehead wrinkle and nasolabial groove were symmetrical, he can extend his tongue out and show his teeth as normal. His neck can move freely and he can shrug. Right arm muscle power was 5 degrees with normal muscle tone, the left arm muscle power was 1 degree. There was severe bending malformation of the left elbow joint, wrist joint and fingers. The muscle power of  the legs were 5 degrees, muscle tone was normal. The tendon reflex of the arms were normal,  the legs tendon reflex was low. The bilateral ankle clonus were negative, abdominal reflex of both sides were normal. Right arm pinprick sensation was reduced and the other limbs sensory tests were normal. The Hoffmann sign of both sides were negative, bilateral Palm-jaw reflex were negative, sucking reflex was negative, Babinski sign of both sides were negative. The finger to nose test and fast alternate movement were normal, he could not perform the heel-knee-tibia test and the meningeal irritation sign was negative.

Treatment:
After the admission he received related examinations and received 3 neural stem cell injections and 3 mesenchymal stem cell injections to repair his damaged nerves, nourish nerves, regulate his immune system and improve blood circulation. This was done with rehabilitation training.     

Post-treatment:
After 14 days treatment his left wrist joint tension reduced and the movement range increased. The flexion and extension range of his left wrist increased so the left hand fine movement was easier.
